Okay, logged in on my PC. Have not entered the password for the protected post. On the dashboard it shows that we have commented, but not what the comment was. It only shows password protected. Hope that helps. It should be secure in that fashion anyhow!

OK – we have all the awesome add-ons added, and all the tweaks copied, plus we have that extra add-on that allows hyperlinked references to other comments and users.
I will also test out some new add-ons here, too.

You won’t get any notifications, however, because we’re keeping WokePress out of the loop. No JetPack until our mission is complete. You may, however, be able to use other tools, like the comments tool in the dashboard, and other tools coming in other add-ons.

Wait! I just used a different device that had never seen this site, and it sees THIS post, but not the other, which is password-protected.
Now I may be able to make things even tighter – so unregistered can’t even read – I’ll investigate.
I am pretty sure you can do that on the back end if I remember from my wp linkedin class I had a while back.

Just added a plugin that sends all unlogged-in people to the login/registry page. I think we now have an almost private site.

Wolf, I had to reset my password for posting here…because it was not taking the one that you had set up for me.
I now see that there is a new thread added — Test Post 2.
It is not letting me use my new password, even though it’s working on this thread…because I am able to post here now, after resetting it.
I don’t know what to do.

OK – here is the deal. There are TWO PASSWORDS – your password for the SITE, that goes with your username or email…. AND ….. second….. there is the password for the protected posts.
It is advisable NOT to have your browser remember BOTH, because most browsers are not smart enough to tell the two passwords apart, and will OVERWRITE your site password with the POST password.
You have likely changed the SITE PASSWORD.
The POST password is the one I gave you earlier.

But I have tried both passwords, and neither one works for that login.
Never mind…I got in, using the second password.
I guess my attempt to change that one, failed.
And…I guess I wasn’t typing it correctly before…but I really thought I was, and even tried it multiple times.
But this time it worked.

Yes – only the special password for POSTS will work to get into the threads. Your site password will not work. WordPress will remember the password to the posts for a while.
